To Be Annual Meeting’s Speakers
Veteran television news journalist John Stossel and former U.S. Senator John Breaux (D-LA) will be among the speakers at the W.Va. Chamber’s 72nd Annual Meeting and 2008 West Virginia Business Summit. Stossel is Co-Anchor of ABC’s 20/20 news show and is a New York Times best-selling author. Breaux, who is retired from the U.S. Senate, now is cofounder of the Breaux-Lott Leadership Group, a lobbying firm with former U.S. Senator Trent Lott. Breaux also is Co-Chairman of President’s Tax Reform Commission, and an expert on social security, health care, and energy.
In addition to these two distinguished speakers, Richard Whiting, President and CEO of Patriot Coal Corporation, will be the speaker for the opening lunch on August 27. Whiting is a native of West Virginia, and his company is completing the purchase of Magnum Coal, which will make Patriot one of the largest coal operators in the Mountain State.
Stossel is scheduled to be the speaker for the Thursday (August 28) General Session, and Senator Breaux will be the speaker for the Friday morning breakfast session.

“This is where all the business decision makers are. I go to meet with people who may be hard to meet with otherwise. I also rely on the West Virginia Chamber to bring to us the very hottest topics and issues which merit our attention. In short, in a couple of days I can keep in touch with the pulse of West Virginia business.”
